Dear Friends and Neighbours in Pine Meadows

A sign reads, “Police car loses wheels to thief! Cops are working tirelessly to nab suspect.”

“A perfectionist walked into a bar. Apparently, it wasn’t set high enough!”

As you have probably seen, work has begun on the sewage plant #2 upgrade. Already, one of the pumps used to move matter to one of the other plants has become plugged from wipes being flushed down toilets. Please do not flush anything but toilet paper down your toilets. Even wipes that are apparently flushable will get caught. If you have a PSW or someone in for assistance, please remind them to flush only toilet paper down your toilet.

Covid vaccinations are progressing very well with residents in our community. To date approximately 66% of our residents have received their first shot. Many more have appointments later in April. Once you have had your shot it takes approximately 2 weeks to achieve the best immunity. Hopefully we will have between 85% and 90% immunized by mid May. The growth of the spread of the virus continues to be alarming so please continue to follow the protocols as outlined by the government and medical officials and we will get through this.

Tomorrow, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II will be interned in the Royal Vault in St. George’s Chapel. In memory of  Prince Philip our flag will be lowered to half mast on Saturday, April 17,2021, the day of his funeral.

Please stay safe and healthy everyone

Joe Piercey
