Dear Friends and Neighbours in Pine Meadows
Did you know that 14 muscles are activated when you open a bottle of wine? Fitness is my passion!
Our latest count shows over 80% of our residents have received their first Covid-19 vaccination shot. I have also heard that several people have received appointments for their second shot starting in early June. This is extremely positive news as the total daily number of positive cases in Ontario is starting to level off and even decline. We are all hoping that very soon we will be able to restart the activities we remember doing over a year ago. Remember, however that we are still in stay at home protocol until May 20th. You may see some maintenance steps being taken in anticipation of starting to open up but the government’s decision on the 20th will determine what we can do.
The following is a media release sent to me today regarding Highland Pines. It talks about the transfer of ownership of Highland Pines from Don Vallery to his sons, Nolan and Jesse. I thought I would share it with you even though there is no impact on Pine Meadows in regard to day-to-day operations, administration and ownership. Just keeping you in the loop.
Highland Pines Campground is excited to announce the successful transfer of ownership from its founder Don Vallery to his two sons, Nolan and Jesse Vallery. Don Vallery, who started the park with his father in 1967, is pleased to pass ownership to his two sons. Highland Pines will continue to offer an exceptional camping experience geared towards customer satisfaction and its values that have allowed it to be successful over its lifetime.
Nolan and Jesse have been actively engaged in the campground since a young age, taking on leadership roles after finishing their educational pursuits 10 years ago. Nolan, with a diploma in Hospitality Management and a specialization in concierge service, has overseen the sales and front-of-house operations primarily over his time with Highland Pines. Jesse, with a Diploma in Business, Graduate Diploma in Management and MBA has overseen the maintenance and operations side of the business. Aside from their primary responsibilities, both of the new owners are well-versed in all aspects of the business.
The talented Highland Pines staff will continue to deliver the standard of service that has been expected of the resort over its history. The new owners have no plans to restructure and it is essentially ‘business as usual’.
The team at Highland Pines would like to congratulate and celebrate Don Vallery’s tenure, dedication and vision. Don will continue to support the business as a part-time consultant assisting in mentoring and special projects. Highland Pines thanks all its clients, partners and supporters through the years and encourages feedback as they look to a bright future.
