Dear Friends and Neighbours in Pine Meadows

“John Travolta tested negative for Coronavirus last night. Turns out it was just Saturday Night Fever.”

“It’s a shame that nothing is built in North America anymore. I just bought a TV and it said Built in Antenna. I don’t even know where that is!”

Well, the day we have been looking forward to is finally set to arrive. At 12:01 Friday July 16th Ontario will move into step 3 of the Reopening Plan. This means that more retail stores will be open, indoor dining will return and we are very close to getting back to life as we knew it 18 months ago.

For our Pine Meadows Community the Community Centre and Woodworking Shop will fully reopen to residents only. Distancing of 6 feet is required in all areas. The pool and sauna will open. Don Vallery has advised me that the Hot Tub will be fully installed but a trench will need to be dug from the outside under the floor to repair an air leak. The Hot Tub will open once this is completed. At this time the grand Hall will be restricted to 25 people. With 6 feet distancing protocols in place, we will not be able to have card games or Koffee Klatch at this time. I have asked Nicole Bernou (Activities Director) to update the Activities Calendar located in the hall leading to the Grand Hall. As you can see, this is a huge step in returning to normal. We also continue to hope that whatever restrictions are left will be removed shortly.

I will keep you in the loop as things progress.

See you around as Activities reopen.
