Dear Friends and Neighbours in Pine Meadows

Has anyone else noticed that ‘exercise’ and ‘extra fries’ sound remarkably alike???

Regarding COVID: We have finally “graduated” to the Reopening Ontario stage and there are a number of ways this impacts our life at Pine Meadows. Many more activities are now possible.  For instance, there’s no number limit on gatherings inside the Community Centre.  However, for now, the policy concerning the entire Community Centre, including the kitchen continues.  These are open to residents only. The only exceptions will be for guest speakers at Koffee Klatch, the leaders for the S.M.A.R.T. program, the pharmacist for our flu clinic, and future programs that require an outside leader. Everyone participating must be double vaccinated, including the speakers and leaders.

So, number limits are gone, but MASKS are still mandatory. Again, there are some exceptions. While MASKS must be worn when entering and leaving the building, they will no longer be required for billiards or darts as long as physical distancing is kept in place. Additionally, whenever beverage and/or food are involved at Koffee Klatch, Happy Hour, and events planned by the social committee, MASKS will be required when we arrive, whenever we move about and as we are leaving [similar to the rules in place for restaurants], but not while we are seated with food or beverages.

Additionally, as with restaurants and other public events, we will need to show “Proof of Vaccination” when coming to activities at the Community Centre. The PMHA Board is looking at ways of simplifying this process and I’m sure a process that works for everyone will evolve over time.  Meanwhile, please have your proof of vaccination with you when you come to participate in any of our indoor programs at the Community Centre.

Stay well and hang in there,

Linda Bell [on behalf of the PMHA Board]
